I’m Fumi, a native Japanese teacher with experience teaching learners of different ages and levels. My goal is to help you feel comfortable using Japanese in real life, not only understanding it in a textbook.
I create a relaxed, supportive environment where you can speak without fear of mistakes, while still following a clear structure that keeps you progressing. I explain grammar in a simple, practical way, and we focus on natural expressions, pronunciation, and speaking practice from the beginning. Each lesson is tailored to your goals and pace, so you can see steady improvement and build real confidence.

I’m Fumi, a Japanese teacher who designs lessons based on how people learn a second language in real life. Learning a new language is exciting, but it can also feel challenging especially for adult learners balancing busy schedules and the fear of making mistakes. The good news is that it’s never too late to start. With the right support and consistent practice, you can keep moving forward steadily.
That’s why I choose methods and materials thoughtfully. Rather than following a single textbook from start to finish, I shape each lesson around your goals whether that’s conversation, travel, business, or exam preparation. Our main focus is communication: natural expressions, pronunciation support, and grammar explained in a clear, practical way. You’ll practice speaking from the beginning, with guidance that helps you build confidence gradually.
I also bring the perspective of a language learner. Having studied multiple languages myself, I understand what it feels like to get stuck and what helps you move past it. I combine that learner’s insight with a professional, hands-on teaching style to create lessons that are supportive, enjoyable, and effective.
I also teach students under 18, and I have a VOG (Certificate of Conduct). If you share your goals, I’ll tailor our lessons to help you improve step by step.
