Over Yuki
Hi! I’m Yuki, a native Japanese speaker from Osaka, currently based in the Netherlands. I’m fluent in both standard Japanese and the Osaka dialect.
I love singing nostalgic songs from the Showa era, diving into novels by Toyoko Yamasaki and Jirō Nitta, and cheering on rugby matches. During my university years, I was deeply passionate about mountain climbing.
I also hold a 3rd Dan rank in Kendo, a traditional Japanese martial art. Training in Kendo has shaped my sense of discipline, sharpened my focus, and deepened my appreciation for Japanese culture.

I’m a certified Japanese teacher, having passed the Japanese Language Teaching Proficiency Test and completed 420 hours of formal training. I also bring extensive experience from working in Japanese companies—especially in airport customer service, where I developed strong skills in polite, professional communication.
I truly enjoy sharing the depth and beauty of Japanese language and culture with learners.
I tailor my lessons to each student's goals and needs—whether you're starting from hiragana and katakana, exploring kanji step by step, or diving into grammar, vocabulary, and natural conversation. You can even learn Osaka dialect and local culture through expressive phrases and fun comparisons. My teaching style is friendly, flexible, and designed to make Japanese feel more approachable, engaging, and meaningful for each learner.

Perfect! I've been really enjoying my lessons with Yuki so far! The lessons match my goal of improving my conversational Japanese and handling daily life situations in Japan. I'm learning a lot of new words and useful phrases in a very natural way, and I appreciate how she adjusts her speaking and writing so it's easier to understand at my (beginner) level. It makes me feel more confident and it helps me build my vocabulary naturally.
I also like the teaching method and the textbook she uses. It's practical and easy to follow, the book has fun illustrations and the chapters aren't too long, which makes it enjoyable and not overwhelming to work through. I also appreciate how she explains the nuances of politeness and how language changes depending on the situation.

He can already read hiragana, katakana, and some basic kanji, which is impressive for a beginner. He also made a strong effort to speak, and his motivation was clear throughout the lesson.
I shared the link to the text we used (Irodori Starter). With self‑study and regular speaking practice in our lessons, he will make steady progress.
