Over Naoko
I was born in Saitama Prefecture (next to Tokyo) and raised in Tokyo. I am a native speaker of standard, accent-free Japanese, commonly used in everyday life and professional settings.
I have lived in Canada and the United States, and I am currently based in Amsterdam, which allows me to teach Japanese with a strong understanding of cross-cultural communication.
I love fashion and music and have a solid background in Japanese culture, including modern and underground scenes.
For many years after becoming a parent, I worked as an executive assistant, so I am very familiar with Japanese business manners, workplace culture, and honorific language (keigo) that are essential in professional environments.
I am also passionate about travel, and for those who are interested in visiting Japan, I can share plenty of local tips — from food etiquette and restaurant manners to how to use public transportation and navigate daily life in Japan from a local perspective.
