Sohan and I did our PhDs together and often talked about teaching, pedagogy, and active learning strategies with a focus on promoting metacognition. I know him to be a creative and caring teacher who legitimately keeps up with the latest science pedagogy literature and implements best practices into his teaching style. From providing peer-to-peer support as I muddled my way through Math Methods for Physics in our first year to providing detailed feedback on my teaching demo lesson plan as I applied to faculty positions, Sohan's dedication to and interest in teaching has not wavered since I've known him.

Together, we co-developed and taught a one week curriculum as a "bootcamp" for incoming Masters physics students (I focused on classical mechanics, while Sohan taught quantum mechanics) so I have seen his dedication in practice, both as colleague in the development stage and while observing him in action.
