Over Jay
Hi! I’m Jay Obreke, a professional guitarist with years of experience performing, studying, and sharing music. I’ve lived in Amsterdam, performed at iconic venues like the Bimhuis and main jazz bars such as Kring and Cafe Alto, and had the privilege of playing alongside some of the best jazz musicians in the world.
I love sharing my knowledge because music is meant to be shared. Teaching allows me to help students discover their own voice, develop technique, and feel confident expressing themselves through guitar.
My teaching experience includes:
Working with children in primary schools
Teaching both children and adults in official music academies
Guiding students of all levels to improve technique, musicality, and improvisation
