Over Martha
Traditional and digital media have played a significant role throughout my life: I work with both simultaneously, creating drawings, digital art, paintings, video installations, and 3D models. Art theory and art history are also deeply engaging to me, and I am very grateful that the doctoral program provides opportunities not only to create, but also to research, write, and present on topics related to art and moving image.
It has been a long journey to where I am now: an artist and doctoral researcher of art. I am half English, half Hungarian, and have lived in both countries. This has given me an insight into two different mindsets of art education: one more open-minded and project-based, the other more focused on a strong foundation in drawing skills, art history and art theory. A mixture of these two is what provided me with a diverse mindset, which I happily share with my students.
Drawing has been my passion since childhood. As a teenager, I made comics and began working digitally on graphics, animations, and web design. During high school in Budapest, I studied art history while attending an evening art school where I drew and painted. After graduating from high school, I studied in the United Kingdom in a one-year Foundation program, where I was also able to experiment with filmmaking. Then I studied for 5 years at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts and graduated nearly six years ago. Since then, I have been awarded various scholarships to support my art and research. I am currently a doctoral student in the Multimedia program at the MOME Doctoral School, and have been a guest researcher at KASK and a guest student at LUCA.

My lessons are tailored to my students’ individual needs, adapting to their personal goals, preferences, and challenges. Based on our first meeting, I will develop goals and focuses that will provide a structure to lessons in the future, which can be modified as your focuses might shift. I aim to help my students gain a deeper understanding of their interests and passions to help them develop plans for the future. I believe the key to skill development lies in free experimentation, understanding, and consistent practice. With the right motivation, passion, and freedom, every challenge can become a source of joy. My classes are guided by this mindset and are complemented by practical exercises and art history.
I offer lessons in English, as English is my mother tongue, so it can also be a nice occasion to practice English for those who might find that useful.
