Over Hilda
Hello! My name is Hilda and I’m currently based in the Netherlands. Over the past few years, I’ve worked as a Chinese tutor for non-native speakers, mainly teaching students aged 6 to 25.
I’m passionate about the Chinese language and culture—especially reading and writing. I won Second Prize (Top 0.5%) in a national essay competition, and Chinese has always been one of my strongest and favorite subjects.
I specialize in helping beginner to intermediate learners build a solid foundation and make clear progress within a set time frame. My lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s goals.
I also have experience teaching IB Mandarin B, including both SL and HL. I’m familiar with the IB course framework and assessment requirements, and I can help students improve vocabulary and grammar accuracy, develop speaking and writing skills, and prepare for oral assessments and exam-style tasks with confidence.

My name is Hilda, and I am a native Chinese speaker. Although I am young, I have already gained solid experience as a one-on-one Chinese tutor. I use interactive and immersive teaching methods, incorporating multimedia resources, situational dialogues, and cultural context to help students develop balanced skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
My classes typically last 45–60 minutes per session, and I’m flexible with scheduling to accommodate students’ timetables.
Previously, I worked as an assistant teacher for HSK courses and have also provided 1-on-1 Chinese tutoring, which has helped me build strong teaching skills and a structured, student-centered approach. My courses are especially suitable for beginners and for learners preparing for the HSK exams, and I teach students of all ages, including children, teenagers, and young professionals.
In addition, I have experience supporting students with IB Mandarin B (SL/HL). I’m familiar with the course structure and assessment requirements, and I can help students improve their language accuracy, expand topic vocabulary, and strengthen speaking and writing performance, including preparation for oral assessments and exam-style tasks.
