Over Lorenzo
I studied classical piano performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, where I developed not only a strong technical foundation on the instrument, but also a broader understanding of music theory, composition and improvisation.
Although classically trained, my musical interests extend well beyond classical repertoire. I have experience playing jazz, rock and blues, including live performance in both a big band and a jazz trio. I also compose, which has given me a practical understanding of how music theory can be applied to improvisation and creating music of your own.
I have eight years of one-to-one music tutoring experience with both children and adults. Over that time, I have taught students with very different goals, from preparing for graded examinations to learning simply for enjoyment. I enjoy adapting my teaching to the individual, helping students develop solid technique and musical understanding while keeping lessons engaging and rewarding.
What I particularly enjoy about teaching is seeing a student become increasingly independent: understanding not only what to play, but why the music works and how they can explore it for themselves.

My lessons are taught in English or Italian and tailored to each student’s goals, interests and learning style. Whether you are starting from scratch, returning to the piano after a break, preparing for an exam, or simply looking to develop your playing, we will build the lessons around what you want to achieve.
A typical lesson can combine technical work such as scales, chords and arpeggios with pieces, sight-reading and music theory. However, there is no fixed formula: students who are interested can also explore playing by ear, improvisation and composition. I am classically trained, but I also have experience with jazz, rock and blues, so the repertoire does not have to be limited to classical music.
For beginners, I like to get you playing from the beginning rather than spending weeks on theory before touching the instrument. Alongside learning pieces, I will show you how scales, chords and musical patterns work so that you gradually develop the tools to practise and explore music independently.
Lessons are suitable for both children and adults and can be as structured or as flexible as you prefer. If you have a clear objective, we can work systematically towards it; if you do not, we can explore different areas together and find what motivates you most.
