Hi! I’m Hugo, a native English-speaking Maths tutor based in the Netherlands. Having completed the full IB pathway, I understand the challenges students can face when Maths starts to feel more difficult. I have also completed programmes in finance and AI algorithms, which have further developed my analytical thinking. I really enjoy helping young people build confidence, understand tricky topics, and feel more positive about their progress.

I was the student who dreaded maths, until I found the right support.
That is why I teach in a calm, patient, and encouraging way. My aim is not just to help students get through homework, but to help them understand what they are doing, feel more confident, and stop maths from becoming something they avoid.
In a typical lesson, I first identify where your child is getting stuck, then we work through it step by step with clear explanation and guided practice. I also help students spot repeated mistakes, improve accuracy, and build confidence with the kinds of questions they find most difficult.
I completed the full IB pathway myself and have 2+ years of tutoring experience, so I understand both the academic pressure and the importance of making learning feel manageable.
My lessons are intended for younger students, especially those in English-speaking or international education, including school students who need support with understanding, confidence, and steady progress in maths.
