Over Irene
I’m a professional designer with a passion for people, languages, and different cultures.
My own journey has always been international. I studied and worked in different European countries, and I currently live in Toronto. Moving between countries and cultures has taught me how much a language can change the way we connect with people and experience a new place.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to meet and teach many wonderful people from different backgrounds. I’ve helped students from Spain, England, and beyond discover Italian through conversation, sharing stories, and exploring the culture behind the language.
One of the experiences that meant the most to me was volunteering at a refugee center in Italy, where I helped immigrants learn Italian so they could communicate more easily and feel more at home in their new environment. It made me realize even more how powerful language can be: it’s not just about grammar and vocabulary, but about building confidence, making connections, and becoming part of a community.
That’s why I love teaching Italian.
I don’t want my lessons to feel like a traditional classroom. I want them to feel like a real conversation with an Italian person — a chance to speak, make mistakes, laugh, ask questions, and gradually become more confident.
We’ll work on grammar and vocabulary, but most importantly, we’ll speak Italian. We can talk about everyday life, travel, food, cinema, design, Italian traditions, or whatever you’re curious about.
Whether you’re starting from zero or already speak Italian, I’ll adapt the lessons to you, your interests, and your goals.
For me, teaching a language is also about sharing a little piece of who I am and where I come from — while getting to know the person sitting on the other side of the conversation.

I’m a professional designer with an international background, having studied and worked in several European countries. I currently live in Toronto.
Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of helping students from Spain, England, and other countries improve their Italian through relaxed, engaging conversations and personalized lessons. I also volunteered at a refugee center in Italy, where I helped newcomers learn the language and communicate more confidently in their everyday lives.
Teaching Italian is something I genuinely enjoy. I love meeting people from different backgrounds, hearing their stories, and helping them discover how much a language can reveal about a country and its culture :)
My lessons
My classes combine grammar, conversation, vocabulary, and real-life Italian. We’ll spend plenty of time speaking, because I believe that the best way to truly learn a language is to use it from the very beginning.
My lessons are relaxed, interactive, and adapted to your goals and level. We can talk about everyday life, travel, Italian culture, food, cinema, design, or anything that interests you — while naturally improving your Italian along the way.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or already comfortable speaking Italian, I can adapt the lessons to your needs and help you become more confident and natural when communicating.
