Over Linda
Hello! My name is Linda, and I am an experienced language teacher with more than 26 years of experience in language education and over 10 years of experience teaching students privately online.
I am a native Italian speaker and a qualified language teacher with an academic background in Linguistics and Modern Languages (BA and MA), as well as a TEFL qualification. Throughout my career, I have taught students of different ages, levels and backgrounds, helping them achieve a wide range of personal, academic and professional goals.
I believe that learning Italian should be both practical and enjoyable. My lessons are personalised to your level, goals and learning style. Some students prefer a clear structure with grammar and exercises, while others learn best through conversation and practical situations. I adapt my lessons accordingly rather than using exactly the same approach with everyone.
One of my particular areas of interest is helping students who understand Italian quite well but find it difficult to speak. If you know vocabulary and grammar but hesitate when you have to form sentences, my lessons give you plenty of opportunities to speak, make mistakes, receive useful corrections and gradually become more confident and fluent.
I am patient and supportive, but I also believe in giving students clear explanations and constructive feedback. Grammar is explained in a simple, logical way, so that you understand how the language works rather than simply memorising rules.

My Italian lessons are fully personalised and adapted to your level, goals and learning style — from complete beginners to advanced students.
Whether you want to start learning Italian from scratch, improve your speaking, prepare for an exam or simply feel more confident using Italian in everyday life, we can focus the lessons on what you actually need.
For beginners, we build a solid foundation step by step, working on pronunciation, essential vocabulary, grammar and everyday expressions. You will gradually learn how to introduce yourself, ask and answer questions, talk about your daily life, order in restaurants, travel, shop, make appointments and communicate in common real-life situations.
For intermediate and advanced students, I focus particularly on conversation, fluency, vocabulary and accuracy. We can discuss subjects that interest you — travel, Italian culture, food, films, work, current events, relationships, lifestyle and everyday life — while I help you improve your grammar, pronunciation and ability to express yourself naturally.
If you already understand quite a lot of Italian but struggle to speak, we can make conversation the central part of the lesson. You will have plenty of time to speak, make mistakes and receive corrections and explanations. My aim is to help you move away from translating everything in your head and towards thinking and expressing yourself more naturally in Italian.
Italian for travel and everyday life is another area I particularly enjoy. If you are travelling to Italy, planning to move there or simply want to communicate more comfortably with Italian speakers, we can practise practical situations such as restaurants, hotels, airports, transport, shopping, reservations and social interactions.
I also offer Italian for work and professional purposes. Lessons can be tailored to your profession and may include professional vocabulary, emails, presentations, meetings, interviews and other situations relevant to your work.
For students preparing for an Italian language examination, I offer preparation for CELI and CILS. We can work on speaking, writing, reading, listening, grammar and vocabulary, as well as exam techniques and practice tasks. I will help you identify your weaker areas and focus on the skills you need to improve.
Whether you are a complete beginner, an intermediate learner or an advanced student looking to refine your Italian, I would be happy to help you become a more confident and effective Italian speaker.
Please note: I do not offer free trial lessons. The first lesson is used to assess your level, discuss your objectives and establish a suitable learning plan.

Linda’s teaching style is energetic, positive, interactive, creative, and above all very practical.
