Over Nate
I have worked as a neuroscience researcher at five universities in three different countries, shaping me into a well-rounded biomedical scientist. Mostly, my research has focused on the cellular and molecular side of neuroscience. However, due to the interdisciplinary nature of neuroscience, I am adept in topics ranging from chemistry to cognition.

I find empathy to be essential for teaching. As a recent trainee, I am able to identify with the position of students and be attentive to their needs. When lecturing, I find it important to know your audience—to not speak down to students, but to also not speak over their heads in cryptic jargon. I intend to meet the students where they are. My personal pursuit of science has been motivated by a drive to arrive at the root of a subject—to understand the essence of the issue. I believe that this personal disposition will be beneficial for teaching, as it has given me with a deep understanding to teach from. As a lecturer, it will of course be necessary to get into details, but ultimately, the details will fade away and the concepts will remain.
