I'm a linguistics PhD candidate. I'm doing a joint PhD between the University of the Western Cape (South Africa) and Utrecht University. I've also completed a TEFL course through 'teachTEFL'.
Since my schooling days I've been very interested in linguistic phenomena. So, I've spent quite a number of years learning about how language(s) work.
As you might have gathered, I've very passionate and enthusiastic about language, and I hope to be of help to an English learner!

I first like to determine where the student is at in terms of his English competency. In addition, I'm interested in knowing what the student's aim is in terms of English lessons. What is his end goal? What would he like to gain from the lessons? Once I've acquired the aforementioned, I will recommend what I think is a good starting point for the candidate. I'll make recommendations, and the student can choose, or even make other suggestions.
My focus, however, is primarily on grammar and reading lessons.
I'm a linguist in training, and I have a TEFL qualification. I'm currently doing a PhD.
