Over Rafael
As a saxophonist, I’ve had the honor of playing with multiple bands across a wide range of genres, each offering a unique opportunity to grow and evolve as a musician. From intimate jazz ensembles, where improvisation takes center stage, to high-energy funk and soul bands, to the intricate rhythms of bossa nova—my saxophone has allowed me to connect with audiences in powerful, unforgettable ways. Each genre has contributed to my understanding of music, enhancing my versatility and expanding my creative approach to performance.
Beyond my own performances, my experience as a teacher has been equally rewarding. I’ve had the opportunity to share my knowledge and passion for music with students of all ages and skill levels. Whether guiding beginners through the fundamentals or working with more advanced players on their improvisational skills, my teaching approach is rooted in the belief that music is a language that anyone can learn to speak. I specialize in helping students unlock their creative potential, focusing on both technical proficiency and musical expression. Through years of teaching, I've witnessed firsthand how music builds confidence, fosters creativity, and becomes a lifelong pursuit.
The combination of my performing experience and teaching background allows me to offer a well-rounded approach to both students and fellow musicians. I’m passionate about not only helping others improve their technical skills but also encouraging them to find their unique voice as artists—whether through improvisation, composition, or simply connecting deeply with the music.
