Over César
My name is César Vidal, a Chilean saxophonist, composer, and improviser based in Amsterdam. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Music Composition from the University of Chile and a Master’s degree in Jazz Saxophone from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
With over 8 years of teaching experience, I have worked with students of different levels, both privately and in small educational institutions. My background as a professional performer and composer allows me to offer lessons that are well-structured, practical, and rooted in real musical experience.
I approach teaching in a professional, reliable, and supportive way, focusing on clarity, consistency, and personalized guidance. My goal is to provide a safe and encouraging learning environment where students can develop their musical skills and confidently work toward their goals.

I teach music, saxophone, composition, and music theory with a personalized approach, adapting each lesson to the student’s level, interests, and goals. My teaching combines technique, theory, improvisation, and practical exercises, helping students develop skills, confidence, and their own musical voice.
A typical lesson usually starts with a warm-up and technical exercises, followed by repertoire practice, improvisation, or composition work, and ends with a review and guidance for independent practice. I like to keep lessons interactive and engaging, making sure students understand the theory behind what they play while also applying it creatively.
I have experience working with students of all levels, from beginners to advanced musicians. My lessons are suitable for anyone interested in jazz, or popular music, and I enjoy helping students explore music both technically and creatively.
