I'm a software developer based in Nijmegen with several years of hands-on experience building real applications from workforce scheduling tools to web platforms. I moved to the Netherlands in 2022 and have worked across international projects, so I know what it's like to learn in a new environment and pick up new skills from scratch.
I'm passionate about programming not just as a job, but as a way of thinking and solving problems. As a software developer with several years of hands-on industry experience, I teach programming the way it's actually done in the real world by building things. My approach is project-based and practical: instead of drowning you in theory, I get you writing working code from the very first lesson and explain the concepts as they come up naturally in what we're building.
My teaching methods. I believe people learn to code by doing, not by watching. So every lesson is interactive you're at the keyboard, I'm guiding. I break complex ideas into small, digestible steps, use plenty of real examples, and adapt my pace to how you learn. When you get stuck, I don't just hand you the answer; I walk you through how to think about the problem so you can solve the next one yourself. I also give honest, constructive feedback on your code and habits.
A typical lesson. Each session usually starts with a quick recap of what we covered last time and any questions you ran into. Then I introduce a new concept with a clear explanation and a live example. Most of the lesson is hands-on: you write code, I help in real time, and we debug together. We finish by reviewing what you learned and setting a small practice task or mini-project to reinforce it before the next lesson.
My specific skills. I work daily with Python, JavaScript, and modern web development (front-end and back-end), and I have experience taking real applications from idea to launch. That means I can teach not just syntax, but the things that actually matter clean code, debugging, problem-solving, version control with Git, and how software projects fit together as a whole.
