Over Emily
I am a soon-to-be graduate of psychology, and currently live in Leiden where I am finishing my studies. I was originally born and raised bilingually in Vienna, Austria (with my American mother and Austrian father), but have always felt a desire to venture outwards, and see and live in different places. I am very much a people-person, and have always found myself most interested in human relationships, why we behave the way we do and how we can explain our differences. I also have a great passion for the english language, because it allows for so much creative freedom in self-expression, something I wish to pass on to my students :)
I am a firm believer that learning can be fun when built on a trusting and harmonious foundation :)

It is very important to me that I meet the student where they are, and working with the level they are on. The goal is to incrementally increase language skills with exercises that are various: some are fun, some are more challenging. The method of teaching differs depending on if the student has something specific they would like to work on (like an assignment they were given), or if it's a more general lesson. Then I will ask the student what they feel they most need help with and how they are feeling that day, to find a structure for that lesson that is most appropriate. In the past I have created worksheets of my own, role play scenarios, vocabulary games and story-writing prompts.
I believe my classes can be tailored to students who are anywhere between a2 and b2 level. I like to meet the students where they are, so please feel free to contact me! I am happy to see what help i can be :)
