Over Jade
Hi! My name is Jade. I am pursuing my PPLE Bachelor degree at the University of Amsterdam while being a part-time piano teacher.
I graduated from the Geneva Conservatory in 2024 (with honors). As part of my studies at the Conservatory, I took courses in piano pedagogy and earned a certificate in music theory and analysis. I was also a member of two orchestras and performed chamber music.
I have been teaching piano for one year and am mostly familiar with classical music, chanson, pop, and film music.

In my lessons, I focus on practice and improving technique. Although I have prepared lessons and pieces, I give my students a great deal of freedom in choosing their sheet music, the intensity of their lessons, and the type of instruction they need. I see the piano as a passion and, above all, an art form which, as such, shouldn’t become a source of stress or frustration. We’ll make progress through small successes and can explore a variety of genres, from classical music to songs, pop, and even film scores.
My priorities are for students to learn the notes and develop the ability to read sheet music easily, as well as rhythm and interpretation.
We can complement this approach with training in musical ear and singing, as well as the basics of music analysis.
I’d be happy to welcome you to my studio in De Pijp, online or I can come to your home.
