Over Zoe
I'm Zoe, a native French and English speaker and a Liberal Arts and Sciences student at Leiden University The Hague. I grew up between two languages, and when I moved to France as a child, I remember how hard it felt to learn in another language after switching education systems.
I want to share my knowledge because language is more than grammar. It lets you make friends, study abroad, apply for jobs, and express yourself fully. I enjoy helping people get past the fear of making mistakes and start speaking, writing, and reading with confidence.
As a student myself, I understand deadlines, pressure, and the feeling of not finding the right words. My lessons are a friendly, patient space where you can ask anything and make progress at your own pace.
Send me a message and tell me what you'd like to work on. I look forward to meeting you!

Learning and working in several languages is part of my daily life, so I know the challenges you face, and how to get past them!
My lessons are mostly conversation and practice, in a relaxed setting where mistakes are welcome. I will adapt to how you learn best:
- we will have real discussions and presentation practice.
- learning from your own work: we use your essays, emails, and course readings as material, so everything is relevant to you.
- I shall create specially curated exercises on request (and if relevant to your goal).
- clear, friendly feedback: I explain why something sounds off, so you can fix it yourself next time.
Since I'm a native speaker in both languages, I can help with natural expressions, pronunciation, and the little things textbooks skip!
A typical course of lessons:
- First session: we chat, I get to know your level and goals, and we agree on a plan.
- Regular lessons: a short warm-up conversation, then focused work on your goal for the session (writing, speaking, reading, in both English or French).
- We will review how far you've come and adjust the plan as your needs change, such as an exam, deadline, or trip.
My specific skills:
- English (C2 level): academic writing (essays, reports, structure, arguments), conversation, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and proofreading.
-French (C2 level): conversation, grammar, pronunciation, and everyday French, from absolute beginner upwards.
-Experience of studying in an international, English-language university environment.
Who the lessons are for:
-All levels: from beginner to advanced.
-Students: secondary school, university, and exchange students who want to improve their English or French, or get help with assignments.
-Anyone preparing for a course, internship, exchange, or trip abroad, or who simply wants to speak with more confidence!
Ready to get started? Send me a message and we'll plan your first lesson!
