Over Malte
Hi! I’m Malte. Originally from Germany, I moved to the Netherlands to continue my journey in engineering. I’m currently an international Master’s student at TU Delft studying Hydraulic Engineering, following my degree in Mechanical Engineering from TU Munich.
Beyond the world of formulas and fluid dynamics, I am a very social person who believes in a healthy balance between a demanding university schedule and an active lifestyle. When I’m not in the library or the lab, you’ll likely find me outdoors. I have a massive passion for all kinds of boardsports, especially surfing, and I love anything that involves being outside and staying active. I find that this balance keeps my mind sharp, and I bring that same positive, high-energy focus to my tutoring sessions.

I believe the secret to mastering Math and Physics is seeing how everything fits together. Instead of looking at formulas as a long list of things to memorize, I show you how they are all linked.
The "Master Key" Approach: I show you how one basic idea, like how energy moves or how forces balance, is the foundation for dozens of different equations. When you understand the core logic, you don't need to memorize every single line in the textbook.
Linking Subjects: I help you see the "bridge" between your classes. We look at how the Calculus you do in Math is the exact same tool you use to solve a problem in Physics Once you see these connections, the subjects become much easier to manage.
Understanding Through Practice: I believe the biggest factor in success is focusing on active practice. True understanding comes from applying theory to real problems. We spend the majority of our time working through old exam questions and targeted practice sets, ensuring you are familiar with the specific way examiners frame their questions.
Structure of a Typical Lesson: Learning by Doing
The Connection (5 mins): We start by linking today’s topic to something you already know, so the new information has a place to "sit" in your mind.
Logic Breakdown (10 mins): I explain the logic of the formulas we are using today and how they relate to the bigger picture of your course.
Heavy Practice (40+ mins): This is the core of our session. We solve problems constantly. I start by guiding you through the steps, then I let you take over using past papers and exam-style questions to build the speed and confidence you need.
Exam Patterns (5 mins): We finish by looking at how these problems usually appear in tests, so you can recognize the patterns immediately.
My Specific Skills:
Engineering Perspective: My background in Mechanical Engineering and Hydraulic Engineering with 4 semesters in advanced maths, gives me a basis to help you with most maths and physics related problems.
University-Level Experience: Having tutored at the university level, I know how to help you spot the connections that professors expect you to make.
Problem-Solving Shortcuts: I focus on the most efficient ways to reach an answer by using the natural links between different subjects.
