Over Laurie
I am Laurie, a native French speaker with nearly ten years of experience teaching private lessons. I started tutoring in 2017 and quickly realised how much I enjoy helping people feel more confident with the French language.
French is not only my mother tongue, it is also my culture, my daily life, and something I genuinely love sharing with others.
Teaching is my flexible side activity, but it has always been something I care about deeply. I enjoy seeing students progress, understand something that once felt difficult, or finally feel comfortable speaking.
Sharing my language and culture is rewarding because every learner is different, with their own goals and motivations, and I like adapting my approach to make French feel accessible, clear and enjoyable. Whether you are learning for school, work, exams or simply for pleasure, I am here to guide you with patience, structure and encouragement.

I have been teaching French since 2017, and my lessons combine clear grammar explanations, practical exercises, conversation practice and targeted corrections.
A typical class starts with a short warm‑up to get comfortable, then moves into a structured activity focused on speaking, reading, listening or writing, depending on the student’s goals. The content of each lesson varies according to the student’s needs and expectations, which is why the first session is mainly dedicated to discussing objectives, identifying strengths and challenges, and creating a personalised learning plan. I always finish with feedback and simple next steps so progress feels concrete.
I teach FLE, homework support, academic guidance and exam preparation, and I adapt my methods to each learner’s rhythm (beginners discovering the basics, intermediate students wanting to improve grammar or confidence, advanced learners preparing exams or university work, teenagers needing support, or adults learning French for personal or professional reasons).
I teach entirely in English and French, as I do not speak Dutch.
