Over Evgenia
I am a qualified English teacher with over ten years of academic experience in English Language and Literature, holding both a BA and an MA in Literature, as well as an iPGCE specialising in teaching English as an Additional Language. As an expat myself, I understand the challenges of learning and working in a second language, which allows me to support students with empathy and clarity.
I create structured, engaging lessons tailored to each learner, maintaining high academic standards while building confidence and independence. I am deeply passionate about literature from across the world and enjoy helping students connect with a wide range of texts, developing both their skills and a genuine appreciation for the subject.

I take a student-centred and supportive approach, adapting each lesson to the individual’s needs, interests, and learning style. Building confidence is central to my teaching, alongside developing strong skills in reading, writing, and critical thinking. I place particular emphasis on supporting EAL learners, using clear explanations and structured guidance to ensure all students can fully engage and succeed.
A typical lesson starts with a short, engaging activity, followed by guided exploration of a text or skill, and then practice through discussion, writing, or exam-style questions. I regularly use visual aids and real-life examples to make concepts more relatable and accessible, while encouraging students to express their ideas and develop their own voice.
I also integrate educational technology through digital quizzes, interactive presentations, and independent learning tasks to reinforce understanding and keep lessons engaging and dynamic.
My lessons are designed for students aged 11–16, including Key Stage 3 and GCSE, as well as learners looking to improve their academic writing, comprehension, and overall confidence in English.
I aim not only to support students academically, but also to foster a genuine love for the English language and its literature.
