Over Tasbeh
For topics like rates of reaction, I draw and colour the particle-level picture, showing why more particles have enough energy to react as temperature rises, rather than simply handing over the rule. If a visual explanation alone does not land, I switch to flashcards to lock down the core definitions first, and then work through near-identical practice questions with one variable changed at a time, so the cause of any confusion becomes obvious rather than assumed. Homework stays light and specific, and I check understanding by having students explain their own reasoning aloud, rather than simply accepting a correct final answer. For students with ADHD, I keep each drawn segment short with a quick check-in before adding the next part, since dense diagrams can lose attention quickly, and flashcard-based quickfire rounds work well here too.
I teach MYP, GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level and IB Chemistry, whether a student needs to catch up, build confidence, or push for the top grade.

Three years of tutoring Chemistry have shown me that most students who feel lost are not missing intelligence. What they are usually missing is a way to picture what is happening at the particle level, and that is the approach every lesson here is built around. I have been at the British School in the Netherlands since Year 8, achieving 8s and 9s across my GCSEs including all three Sciences, and I'm continuing to build on Chemistry at university level now, through courses including General Chemistry I and II, Physical Chemistry for Food Scientists, and Organic Chemistry I and II.
