Over Yasas
Hi! I'm Yasas, a 16-year-old International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) student at UWC Maastricht, currently studying Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL, Physics HL and Chemistry HL.
I completed the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) with top grades and have a strong interest in mathematics, science and problem-solving, including participation in science olympiads.
Having recently completed the MYP myself, I understand the challenges students face, from difficult concepts and exam preparation to developing confidence in their own abilities.
I believe that being good at a subject is only part of being a good tutor. The real skill is making complex ideas understandable. My goal is to help students develop genuine understanding, improve their problem-solving skills and become more confident, independent learners.
I offer patient, friendly and personalised lessons, adapting my explanations and teaching style to each student's needs and pace.

My lessons focus on understanding concepts rather than simply memorising formulas or following procedures.
I offer personalised online tutoring in Mathematics and Physics, particularly for secondary school and IB MYP students, as well as younger students looking to strengthen their foundations.
**How my lessons work:**
1. **Identify learning gaps:** We begin by understanding which topics the student finds challenging and what they want to achieve.
2. **Build conceptual understanding:** I explain concepts step by step, using clear explanations, visual examples and different approaches where necessary.
3. **Guided practice:** We work through questions together, developing logical reasoning and problem-solving techniques.
4. **Independent application:** Students attempt problems themselves so I can assess their understanding and help them become more independent.
5. **Review and improvement:** We revisit difficult concepts and adjust future lessons according to progress.
I can help with homework, difficult topics, test preparation and developing stronger mathematical reasoning.
Lessons are tailored to each student's level, whether they need extra support with the basics or want to challenge themselves with more advanced problems.
My teaching style is interactive, patient and flexible. I encourage questions and focus on helping students understand not just how something works, but why it works.
**Typical lesson length:** 60 minutes, with flexible scheduling available.
