Over Linda
Hello! My name is Linda, and I am a qualified English teacher with more than 26 years of experience in language education and over 10 years of experience teaching students privately online.
I have an academic background in Linguistics and Modern Languages (BA and MA) and hold a TEFL qualification. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with adults, university students and motivated younger learners at different levels, from complete beginners to advanced students.
I believe that learning English should be both structured and practical. My aim is not simply to teach you grammar and vocabulary, but to help you develop the knowledge, accuracy and confidence you need to actually use English in real-life situations.
I particularly enjoy working with students who want to improve their speaking and communication skills. Many learners understand English reasonably well but hesitate when they need to speak spontaneously. I provide plenty of opportunities for active communication while giving clear corrections, explanations and practical ways to improve.
I also have extensive experience teaching Professional and Business English, including communication in international and multicultural working environments. I can help you develop the language you need for meetings, presentations, emails, interviews, negotiations and other professional situations.
I offer preparation for internationally recognised English examinations, including IELTS, Cambridge B2 First (FCE), C1 Advanced (CAE) and C2 Proficiency (CPE). Lessons can focus on the specific skills and strategies required for your examination and your target result.
My teaching style is patient, structured and supportive, but I also believe in giving students clear and constructive feedback. I want you to understand not only what is correct, but also why, so that you can gradually become more independent and confident in English.
Whether you are starting from scratch, want to improve your everyday English, need English for your career or are preparing for an examination, I will adapt the lessons to your individual goals and help you make steady progress.

My English lessons are fully personalised and adapted to your level, goals and learning style. I work with students from complete beginners to advanced learners, including adults and motivated teenagers.
Whether you want to improve your everyday English, communicate more confidently at work, prepare for an examination or develop your speaking skills, we can focus the lessons on what you actually need.
For beginners, we build a solid foundation step by step. We work on pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and essential communication skills, while gradually introducing practical English that you can use in everyday situations. You will learn how to introduce yourself, ask and answer questions, talk about your daily life, describe people and situations, make appointments, travel, shop and communicate in common real-life situations.
For intermediate and advanced students, I place particular emphasis on conversation, fluency, vocabulary, accuracy and natural communication. We can discuss a wide variety of topics, including work, travel, current events, culture, relationships, lifestyle, films and everyday life. I will correct your mistakes, explain useful language structures and help you express yourself more naturally and accurately.
If you understand English well but find it difficult to speak confidently, we can make conversation the central part of the lesson. You will have plenty of opportunities to speak while I provide corrections, explanations and useful alternatives. The aim is to help you become more spontaneous and confident rather than translating every sentence in your head.
I also offer Professional and Business English for students who need English for their career or an international working environment. Lessons can be tailored to your profession and may include professional vocabulary, emails, presentations, meetings, negotiations, telephone or online communication, interviews and workplace conversations.
If you are preparing for a job interview, we can practise typical interview questions, improve your answers, work on professional vocabulary and develop your confidence when speaking about your experience and qualifications.
I also prepare students for internationally recognised English examinations, including IELTS, Cambridge B2 First (FCE), C1 Advanced (CAE) and C2 Proficiency (CPE). Exam preparation can include speaking, writing, reading, listening, grammar, vocabulary, exam techniques, practice tasks and detailed feedback. We can identify your weaker areas and concentrate on the skills that will have the greatest impact on your performance.
English for travel and international communication is another area we can focus on. If you travel regularly, live in an international environment or communicate with English speakers from different countries, we can practise the language and situations that are most relevant to you.
My lessons are structured but flexible. I use carefully selected materials and adapt the content and pace according to your progress, needs and objectives. You will receive clear explanations and constructive feedback throughout the course.
Whatever your reason for learning English, my goal is to make each lesson useful, engaging and relevant to your real life. You will not simply study English as a collection of grammar rules — you will practise actually using it.
Please note: I do not offer free trial lessons. The first lesson includes a level assessment, discussion of your objectives and the creation of a personalised learning plan.
