Over Katie
I'm a writer, translator, and ESL instructor — language is the name of the game. I have so much appreciation for the power of language to help us express our ideas, understand each other, and work and play together.
I have taught English writing and conversation at high school and university levels. I'm a creative writer, copywriter, proofreader, and Japanese-English translator. I can relate to the challenges of expressing oneself in a second language and take joy in accompanying language learners on their journey of skill development and self-expression.

I offer two types of lessons, both in 45-minute sessions:
- English Conversation, in which we focus on honing your conversation skills one topic at a time. I give you vocabulary and phrasing tools and we practice putting them to use. Along the way, I observe your English language strengths and struggles and give tips tailored to you.
- English Writing, in which we develop your writing skills in the areas of your choice, from creative writing to academic and professional writing. I can help you structure your writing to express your ideas clearly and effectively. And give your style some polish, too!
