Over Laia
Hi! I'm Laia López, a professional soprano from Catalonia based in the Netherlands. I completed my Bachelor's degree at the Prins Claus Conservatoire in Groningen and my Master's degree at HKU Utrechts Conservatorium. After years of studying and performing in the Netherlands, I continue to be active as a performer, working on different musical projects and expanding my experience on stage.
Alongside my career as a singer, I have always enjoyed sharing my passion for music and helping others discover and develop their own voices. I love combining my experience as a performer with my enthusiasm for teaching and guiding students through their musical journey.
I believe that learning to sing should be an inspiring and enjoyable experience. My aim is to share my knowledge, encourage curiosity, and help students feel confident and connected to their own voices.

I believe that every voice is unique, which is why I adapt each lesson to the student's goals, level, and way of learning. Whether you are taking your first singing lesson, preparing for an audition, or looking to improve your technique as an experienced singer, we will work together to help you develop your voice in a healthy and enjoyable way.
My teaching focuses on building a strong vocal technique through breathing, body awareness, resonance, and vocal freedom. At the same time, I believe that singing is not only about technique, but also about expression, interpretation, diction, and feeling confident while performing. My goal is to help you understand your voice, discover your own sound, and enjoy the process of singing.
A typical lesson starts with breathing and body exercises, followed by vocal warm-ups and technical exercises adapted to your needs. We then work on repertoire that suits your interests and goals, applying what we have learned and ending with feedback and ideas to continue improving between lessons.
I have experience teaching students of different ages and levels, from beginners who are discovering their voice to more advanced singers who want to develop their technique further. I can teach lessons in English, Catalan, Spanish, and a bit of Dutch.
