Over Gayoung
I am a native Korean speaker currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Biochemistry and Biotechnology at Ghent University. I have studied in English since high school and am proficient in English, so I can comfortably teach Korean to international students.
I also have previous tutoring experience, having taught English online to elementary school students and communicated with parents about lessons and progress. I am patient, organised, and enjoy adapting my teaching style to each student’s level and interests.
As someone who has been deeply involved in Korean fandom and online culture, I am also very familiar with Korean pop culture, K-pop, K-dramas, web culture, and the way Koreans actually communicate online. If you are interested in Korean culture, I can incorporate authentic expressions, slang, and cultural context into our lessons rather than focusing only on textbook Korean.
Whether you want to learn everyday conversation, improve your pronunciation and grammar, understand Korean content without subtitles, or simply explore Korean language and culture, I can tailor the lessons to your goals.
I am available for in-person lessons in Ghent mainly in the evenings and on weekends, with some weekday availability depending on my schedule.

I offer personalised Korean lessons for beginners and intermediate learners, taught in English. We can focus on everyday conversation, pronunciation, Hangul, vocabulary, grammar, or Korean culture depending on your goals.
If you are interested in K-pop, K-dramas, or Korean fandom culture, we can also use lyrics, music videos, slang, and real Korean expressions as learning materials. I can explain not only what an expression means, but also when and why Koreans actually use it.
Lessons are adapted to your level and interests, with a focus on making Korean practical, enjoyable, and easy to understand. Whether you want to start from zero, improve your conversation skills, prepare for a trip to Korea, or understand Korean content without subtitles, we can build the lessons around your goals.
