Tijdens mijn studie heeft Jorita mij geholpen bij het leren van de Nederlandse taal. De gesprekken met haar waren fijn, dankzij haar geduld en relaxte houding voelde ik me op mijn gemak en was ik niet bang om fouten te maken.

Hi my name is Ira de Castro, I am 22 years old, from the Philippines, and I came to the Netherlands to study and to work. Living in a foreign country that speaks a different language can be quite difficult and I understand the importance of learning the language of the country I am staying in, in this case Dutch. I know Jorita because I live with her. She has been very helpful in my endeavour to learn the Dutch language. She is very open, friendly, and patient in teaching me how to speak Dutch. I would say her teaching style is quite effective. She started with the basics such as, the alphabet, numbers, and telling time. In addition, she gives me a word in Dutch that I need to learn how to use per week. For example, I and the other people in the house often use the microwave, so instead of saying the word 'microwave', we switched to using the Dutch translation 'magnetron'. She also tries to speak to me in Dutch and translates carefully when I am having trouble. She has also given me small assignments such as reading kids' books as a starting point for reading Dutch. This has been very helpful and effective for me, which is why I think Jorita is fit to be a Superprof. I would recommend her to other members because not only is she a person who is kind and patient with her students but she is also a great teacher that is able to provide you the learning that you need in a fun and efficient way.
