Hi, I'm Sara! I recently graduated high school with a specialized programme in advanced mathematics and physics, and I'm currently taking a gap year before starting my astronomy studies — so yes, the maths and physics your child is learning right now is very much still alive in my head, not something I half-remember from years ago. Outside of that, I'm a big reader and I like to joke around a fair bit, which probably says a lot about how I teach: I want lessons to feel relaxed and comfortable, not stiff or intimidating. A subject sticks so much better when a student isn't afraid to ask a "silly" question or get something wrong along the way. I take the actual teaching seriously and prepare properly for every lesson, but the atmosphere itself is meant to feel easy, friendly, and a little fun.

How I teach: I believe understanding beats memorizing. Instead of just showing a formula, I walk through why it works, then let the student solve similar problems on their own with me guiding rather than giving away the answer. I ask a lot of questions during a lesson — not to test, but to find exactly where the confusion begins, since that's usually more specific than "I don't understand math." I keep the pace patient and judgment-free: no question is too basic, and mistakes are treated as the normal, useful part of learning that they actually are. A typical lesson: A session usually starts with a quick check-in on what's been covered in class and where the student feels stuck. From there, we work through the concept together with real examples, not just theory, until it clicks. Towards the end, I give a few practice problems to do with me still there, so any remaining confusion gets caught immediately rather than at home alone. I also like to end with a short recap in the student's own words — if they can explain it back simply, I know it's actually understood. My specific skills: I recently graduated high school with a specialized program in advanced mathematics and physics, so the material a 10–16 year old is learning right now is genuinely fresh in my mind — I remember exactly where it gets confusing, because I was there myself not long ago. Beyond the subject knowledge, I bring patience, clear communication, and the ability to explain the same concept multiple different ways until one of them lands. Who these lessons are for: I tutor students aged 10 to 16, covering primary school through early high school level mathematics and physics — from foundational arithmetic and early algebra up through geometry and basic mechanics. These lessons are especially suited for students who feel like they're falling behind or losing confidence in class, rather than those looking for advanced or competition-level material.
