Over Alam
My name is Alam, I was born in Mexico City, and now I live in the Netherlands.
Being the child of two musicians, I started my studies at a very young age, and I haven't stopped since then. I completed my Bachelor's in Piano at the Faculty of Music (UNAM), and after graduating, I decided to pursue a Master's in composition abroad. Currently, I'm studying at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague in the Netherlands, one of the most prestigious schools in Europe! It has been incredibly exciting and quite challenging.
As a composer, I have premiered some of my works in Mexico City and The Hague in the Netherlands. In 2021, I won 2nd place in the international composition competition of the Percussive Arts Society in Italy, and in 2022, I was commissioned by the renowned group Ensamble Klang to write a piece for them.
In addition to my classical music background, I'm also a rocker. I am a founding member, keyboardist, and composer of Alpha Lighting System, a progressive rock group with whom I have performed many concerts in Mexico and the United States. Throughout our career, we have collaborated with notable rock artists such as Billy Sherwood, Bruce Soord, and Serj Tankian.
Currently, I am working on the MOLEN MUSIEK project, an interactive concert program held in historic windmills in the Netherlands. Additionally, I am participating in the composition of an opera for the OFF project in the city of Amsterdam.

As a graduate of the Faculty of Music of UNAM, I have a solid foundation in piano teaching.
My classes are very methodical and organized, and in each lesson, I aim to focus on a key aspect of teaching. This could be something technical, philosophical, or even spiritual. It's essential for me to know your goals and desires with music so that I can tailor my program to your specific needs. My primary goal as a teacher is for you to find in music a means to express your own personality!
One unique aspect of my profile is that I'm a rocker! I've had a progressive rock band for many years. This has given me experience in recording, microphones, synthesizers, and stage presence.
My classes are open to all levels, from beginners with no musical experience to professionals looking to delve into specific techniques.
