Over Mathilde
Music has always been part of my life: I started singing with my father, a music teacher in France, at an early age. After a few years of piano lessons, I took my first opera singing lessons at a small music school at the age of 12, where I discovered a real passion and vocation. So, in the autumn of my 15th year, I left my small town to study for a music baccalauréat in Nice, from which I graduated with the French CEM diploma (Certificat d'Etudes Musicales). Leaving my native country for Switzerland, I spent 4 years studying for a Bachelor's degree in opera singing at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne (HEMU), with the American singer Jeanne-Michèle Charbonnet. After winning several prizes in international competitions in France, notably in Avignon, Béziers, Arles, Marmande and Cagnes-sur-Mer, I joined the artistic agency Backstage Opera Management. Which brings us to my current situation: since September, I've had the chance to follow the Master's program in opera at the Dutch National Opera Academy, Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

Hi! Have you always wanted to start learning music? You love to sing, but would like to learn a few basics to better understand and control your voice? You already have some vocal fundamentals but would like to develop your skills? Then you've come to the right place! :)
This course is designed for anyone, at a beginner or intermediate level, children and adults of all ages and origins.
/!\ Lessons will be given in English or French only, at my home in Amsterdam (Nieuw-West).
As an optional extra, I can also give introductory lessons in music theory, to give you a clearer understanding of musical language.
Classes will include
- Breathing exercises (to learn how to manage your breath and master good vocal support)
- Ear exercises (to develop in pitch accuracy and intonation)
- Vocalizing and voice exercises (adapted to the student's level) to warm up and develop a better voice technique
- Repertoire work on arias, songs or other musical pieces (classical or pop music, depending on the student's wishes) on which the student would like to progress
- (as a bonus, if needed) support or introduction to music theory
The musical goal and target level will be decided (under my guidance) on an individual basis in the beginning of our lessons, according to each student's wishes.
The aim of this course is whatever suits you best: to improve your level in order to enter musical establishments, to progress in order to surpass yourself, or for the curiosity of discovering new things, or even just for the pleasure of making music!
