Over Valentina
I'm a professional children's book illustrator. I started learning how to draw on my own in my late 20s, and a few years later, I was successful in getting represented by an illustration agent and waiting for my first children's book to be published by Simon and Schuster.
I am eager to share the knowledge and experience of learning on your own with you!

The lessons can be in English or Chinese (no Dutch--I don't speak Dutch), tailored to your specific needs. I will introduce the fundamentals of drawing (3D forms, values, perspective, color theory, composition, storytelling, etc.) along with a curriculum that's personalized to your skill level and your goal. You will also learn how to analyze an image technically and its style.
A lesson is usually one hour per week. A typical lesson will begin with a quick review of the previous topic, observational drawing, technical theories, and most importantly, a small exercise at the end. You will also have homework.
I designed my course for adults who have a big imagination and want to bring your own story to life. You will learn all the tools you need to start. Since I was self-taught (as an adult), I understand the challenges of feeling like "it's too late". (It's never too late!)
