I didn't know I wanted to teach English until after I'd finished a degree in Architecture. I realised I had spent most of my time helping the exchange students in my class to put their ideas on paper. One of my favourite parts of the week was my study group where we could work on individual understanding and communication. There is nothing better than seeing someone light up when they are able to put words to all the wonderful ideas they have. It sparked a passion in me that usurped architecture and art, and since then I have been writing and trying to help others around me to learn better and grow on their linguistic journey.
I love learning languages and currently speak English, Irish, Spanish and a little bit of Korean. I'm in the process of learning Dutch so that I too can be better understood by those in my environment, having recently moved to the Netherlands.

I like to speak with my students and get to know how they use English and why they are learning. Someone learning English to write a paper will have very different needs to someone who is going on holiday and needs to know how to ask for directions. Once we've established the why, we can move on to the how. We will build a lesson plan, and together tackle areas that need work until you feel confident in your ability to converse naturally!
