For as long as I can remember I have had a passion for Science. My favourite subjects in high school always were maths, physics chemistry and biology. Perhaps more importantly, I was so interested in these subjects that I spend considerable amounts of time in learning about them outside of school.
After high school I went to Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands to study Applied physics. For me this was almost a perfect fit straight away. The courses were involved but so interesting and I learned a lot. After I completed my Bachelor's and Master's degrees I did however not feel satisfied about my own knowledge on physics. Because of this, I started my phd, focusing this time more on the theoretical aspects of physics.
To me physics is the most rewarding of the sciences. It gives you a truly profound look on nature while also sharpening critical thinking skills. It even allows you to be able to communicate with people in several adjacent fields like engineers, computer scientists, mathematicians and many more.

I prefer to tutor people in one on one sessions for about an hour. I will focus on the intuition behind concepts in Maths and Physics so that the student will actually learn how to think in the appropriate way instead of applying recipes from a cookbook. I like to believe this is also where my strengths as a physicist lie.
I will provide my students with homework every session and I will expect them to also do the homework. If the student desires to prepare for a specific exam I will naturally focus on the subjects in the exam during the tutoring sessions. It goes without saying that if the student is interested in more advanced concepts in Science I would gladly discuss this with the student. I always hope I can project some of my enthusiasm and love for STEM on the student
I am best qualified to teach STEM to senior high school students, (age 15-18), physics to university undergrads (age 18-21) and calculus to university undergrads NOT studying mathematics. Of course If the student does not meet these criteria I can make some adjustments, everyone is welcome!
