Over Aleksis
I started playing guitar at the age of 7. I had to do it on my own because the music school in my hometown did not offer any guitar classes. After a few years, I got a private teacher who helped me understand that I wanted to play guitar on a professional level so I started my studies at Riga Cathedral Choir School and got a professional high school education as a jazz guitarist. Now I'm pursuing a bachelor's degree in jazz guitar at Prince Claus Conservatory.
I've also attended various masterclasses and clinics in Latvia.
My main focus is mastering the electric guitar (playing and teaching) in various genres, for example - jazz, rock, blues, R&B, soul, gospel, and others.
Through the years I've been a part of different bands and projects of various styles. I've also done some work as a session guitarist.

Hi, I am Aleksis and I currently study bachelor in jazz guitar in Prince Claus conservatory.
I started playing guitar when I was 7 years old. The first chords and little "solos" I had to learn by myself, because the music school in my home town didn't offer any guitar lessons. after three years I found a teacher, who helped me to understand that I want to be a proffessional guitar player. That's why graduated Riga Cathedral Choir School as a jazz guitarist.
I am willing to take on students no matter their level or age. Also I am open to various styles of music such as rock, blues, fingerstyle, jazz and others.
In these lessons we would focus on what you want to learn, what you want to achieve. If you are just starting your musical journey, we would learn the basics and apply them to simple songs. However if you've been playing guitar for some time already we can focus on polishing your knowledge, technique and try to find new things for you to learn. You can always come to the lessons with your own questions and we will find the answer. :)
Lessons would be 60 minutes long and they wil be held in english (!)

I've been learning from him for about 12 months and I have to say he is a great teacher! I started learning from him when I only knew basic chords and when I had no idea what jazz is. He teaches with his own style and trust me when I say that it works. The progress came pretty quick. He tought me the basics of jazz guitar, beautiful chords, how to improvise and much more. He always gives useful advice and cares about his students. He is always available if you have any questions. He is very forthcoming and understanding. Overall he's the best. He's amazing guitar player and an amazing person. I would totally recommend choosing him for being your guitar teacher.
Aleksis is a great guitar player and teacher! A lot of knowledge within the field of guitar-based music of various styles. Blues, jazz, pop, rock, funk, you name it! What I think is important, is the level of analyzing the students level and teach accordingly, overall very happy to learn from Aleksis.
