Over Alexander
Alexander Baboian is a seasoned guitarist, composer and educator from the US based in the Netherlands. He has been described by renowned music educator Hal Crook in JazzWax as a "future major voice in Jazz," and by All About Jazz as "a superb composer, an original improviser, and an apt bandleader." He holds a bachelor's degree in guitar performance from the renowned Berklee College of Music where he was awarded the performance division achievement award twice, and master's degrees from Yerevan State Conservatory and Royal Conservatoire Antwerp where he studied Jazz, Composition and Electronic music.
Alexander has appeared at major venues in America, Europe and Asia such as The Kennedy Center, The Bohemian Caverns, Scullers, MIT and Harvard University Radio WHRB (US), A-Trane, B-Flat, Kunstfabrik Schlott (DE), The Music Village, The Hotclub Gent (BE), The Bimhuis (NE), Opus Jazz Club (HU), Cafesjian Center for the Arts (AM), Ogikubo Velvet Sun (JP), and All That Jazz (KR) as well as festivals such as the DC Jazz Festival, JEN Jazz Conference, Beantown Jazz Festival (US), Morgenland Festival, Fusion Festival (DE), Lamantin Jazz Festival (HU). His debut album as a leader Curiosity (2014) was described by All About Jazz as "an intimate, contemplative and supremely lyrical work... sonic poetry."

Dear Music Students,
I am an American guitarist, composer, and teacher from the US newly relocated to the Netherlands, based in Delft and offering music lessons primarily at home in my living room which is centrally located near Oostpoortbrug. I did my bachelor's in guitar performance at Berklee College of Music where I specialized in Jazz, and hold master's degrees from Yerevan State Conservatory and Royal Conservatoire Antwerp as both an instrumentalist and composer.
While my background is in Jazz my interests have always been broad and I'm happy to work with students at a variety of levels of experience, stylistic backgrounds and interests. I strive to give my students a strong foundation in music and guitar playing so they are confident to do whatever they like. I'm primarily a pickstyle player but am comfortable with fingerstyle as well. Electric as well as acoustic.
Whether you are new to music and to the guitar and want to just learn the basics like strum the chords to some songs and play some fun guitar riffs and simple melodies or are already interested in more advanced techniques and challenging pieces and beginning to explore the cosmos of music theory and mastering the fretboard, I'm sure with my background, education and experience that I can be a helpful resource for you.
I do understand a bit of Dutch but I don't speak well yet so my lessons are primarily taught in English.
I do have a parking space available at my building, if you prefer to come by car please let me know.

Specificaties
*For students age 21 + there is an additional VAT 21% added to the lesson price. Students 20 and younger are VAT free. (i.e. for a student age 21 years and older 10u: €550 + 21% VAT €115.50 = €665.50 total)
* Besides 1 hour lessons 45 minute lessons are also an option. The base Rate for 45-minute lessons is: €48 (5-lespakket: €240, 10-lespakket: €450)
*I also have a teaching studio in Den Haag Scheveningen, Please ask for more information.
*The 15 minute free trial lesson would be best to have as an introductory conversation over phone or webcam where we get to know each other a bit and discuss what we would like to do in the lessons.
