Over Theodora
Hi, I'm Theodora! I'm originally from Cyprus, so Greek isn't just a language I studied, it's the language I grew up speaking at home, at school, and with everyone around me. I also went on to study English Language and Literature at the University of Cyprus and completed a Master's in Comparative Literature at the University of Amsterdam, so I bring a genuine love of language and a close attention to how it actually works, beyond just grammar rules.
I've taught before, both in structured settings and informally, helping people build confidence step by step rather than overwhelming them with everything at once. Whether you're learning Greek for family, travel, heritage, or simply out of curiosity, I'll teach you the way Greek is actually spoken, not just the version found in textbooks.
I'm patient, easygoing, and genuinely enjoy sharing my language and culture with people who are curious about it. I currently split my time between Utrecht and Amsterdam and would love to help you on your Greek journey, wherever you're starting from.

My lessons are for anyone who wants to learn Greek, at any age and starting from any level — complete beginners with zero prior knowledge, adults picking up the language for family, travel, or personal reasons, or students looking to build toward a more advanced or fluent level. As a native speaker, I teach the Greek that's actually spoken day to day, not just textbook phrases, so you'll come away able to use it in real conversations. I typically start each lesson with a quick check-in on what you've practiced, then move into focused work on what you need most, whether that's alphabet and pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, or reading and writing, before finishing with relaxed conversation practice to build your confidence. My background in literature and languages means I pay close attention to how the language actually works, and I explain grammar patiently and clearly, without assuming any prior knowledge. Lessons are adjusted to your pace, goals, and personality, so whether you're learning your first Greek words or working toward fluency, the lesson is shaped around you. Available online or, where in-person is specifically needed, arrangements can be made around Utrecht and Amsterdam.
