Over Gita
Gita is a professional flutist and teacher, originally from Canary Islands, Spain. She graduated from her bachelor's degree at Conservatorium van Amsterdam with the highest grade of her class. She is currently studying a master's degree (also at Conservatorium van Amsterdam) with professors Kersten McCall, Vincent Cortvrint and Mariya Setmotjuk, flutists from Het Concertgebouworkest.
As a pedagogue, Gita is often described as enthusiastic and energetic. Her genuine motivation to teach makes her a very fun tutor, rejoicing with each of her student's achievements and improvements. She is experienced with both adults and children, beginners, and advanced musicians.

Gita has won the second prize in the first edition of the International Bach Festival Competition, played as a soloist with the IBF youth orchestra and have many experience with orchestra playing.
She is also CEO, Founder, and Artistic Director at OnAlti Academy, an international summer music course where outstanding word-class musicians are invited to give masterclasses.
Gita has also had masterclasses with Carlos Bruneel (principal flutist at the National Opera of Brussels), Renata Greiss-Armin (ex-principal flutist at the Hamburg Philarmonic Orchestra), Peter Lukas Graff (international well-known soloist), Robert Dick (well-known soloist, composer and forefather of new techniques of the flute), Felix Renggli (international soloist and professor at the Musikhoschule in Basel), and many others.

My teaching method varies and adjusts to the students' needs and wishes. I pay special attention to creating a personalized education and experience for every one of my learners. I like to work on both technical and musical aspects in a (very) conscious way, making particular emphasis on having fun with the little ones!
The lessons duration are of 1 hour. These are generally given at Oosterdokskade. If necessary, it is possible to agree on a different location.
Students of all ages and levels are welcome to contact me for more information and/or questions that may arise.

I found Gita online when I was looking to purchase a flute, and she gave me recommendations on where to find one as well as offered to give me lessons! Lessons with her were phenomenal. She taught me the basics of flute in such a clear way with such helpful exercises that really payed off as I started learning/playing actual songs. She was incredibly encouraging and supportive and I really felt like I learned a lot very quickly. She knows so much and is so talented and it was so great learning from her!!!! I highly highly recommend taking lessons from her.
