I found out that a lot of people that are new to our country are surrounded by English speakers, so that they don’t get to practice their Dutch on a regular base. It helps a lot to just chat in Dutch, without being afraid to make mistakes and even get the help to improve yourself. I’ll only speak Dutch to you- really it’s the best way- so get Google translate (or a good old dictionary) ready :-) This is how I learned to speak Spanish in a few weeks time! Dus vanaf nu alleen maar Nederlands!
