Over Elli
I completed my Bachelor' s degree in "Applied Music and Music Education" at the University of Macedonia in Greece, where I come from, and I am currently continuing my bachelor studies at the HKU Utrechts Conservatorium, specialising in Classical Saxophone. I enjoy performing in ensembles and I have experience playing in saxophone quartets, saxophone orchestras and wind ensembles. My desire to get to know more about music and about my instrument led me to participate in masteclasses and workshops with very inspiring musicians such as Claude Delangle, Nicolas Arsenijevic, Joonatan Rautiola, Christian Wirth, Arno Borncamp, Vincent David and more.

Saxophone Lessons for All Ages & Levels:
The lessons are addressed to students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to more advanced players.
What you will be taught:
In addition to learning how to play the saxophone, during the lessons we also focus on body and breathing awareness, music theory, concentration and study techniques, interpretative approaches, as well as creative and improvisational practices. My goal is to help the student develop his/her own musical personality. Regarding repertoire, there is prepared material covering a wide range of styles (classical études, duets, songs with or without backing tracks, pieces from the classical saxophone repertoire, etc.). If a student has a specific musical direction that would like to follow, suggestions are always welcome! We can also work on pieces the student brings or wants to play, because music is everywhere!
Lesson structure:
In each lesson the student has the opportunity to present the work that has prepared during the week, and at the same time we move forward with new material. The new material is provided in a way that when the student leaves the lesson knows clearly what and how to practise during the week.
A 60-minute lesson usually includes:
- Warm-up
- Work on one or more pieces
- A creative / improvisation part
(Unless we need to focus more on a specific technical or musical topic.) The content is always adapted to the student’s age and level so that the lesson remains enjoyable, understandable and productive.
Duration:
Lessons last from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on age and preference.
Goals:
- First and most importantly: to enjoy the lesson and the experience of playing the saxophone together with the student
- To gain new musical and technical tools, ideas and confidence.
