Over Teo
Hi! I’m a 21-year-old Norwegian cellist based in Amsterdam, currently studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
Alongside my studies, I perform regularly as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player. These experiences shape my teaching, as I focus not only on technique but also on musical expression and confidence when playing.
I specialize in teaching adult beginners and understand that starting an instrument later in life can feel challenging. My goal is to create a relaxed, supportive environment where you can learn at your own pace and enjoy the process from the very beginning.
As a teacher, I aim to make lessons clear, structured, and motivating, so you always know what you’re working on and how to improve. I believe that with the right guidance, anyone can learn the cello and find real enjoyment in playing.
I teach in English and Norwegian, and I’m happy to work with students from all backgrounds.

My lessons are designed especially for adult beginners who have always wanted to play the cello, but may feel unsure where to start.
You don’t need any prior musical experience. We begin from the very basics and build step by step in a relaxed, supportive environment. My goal is to help you feel comfortable with the instrument while making steady, visible progress.
In our lessons, we focus on:
• Developing a good, natural posture and sound
• Learning to read music in a simple, practical way
• Playing melodies early on to keep things motivating
• Building technique without unnecessary pressure
I adapt each lesson to your pace and goals. Whether you want to play for personal enjoyment, learn your favorite pieces, or develop solid fundamentals, we shape the lessons around you.
Lessons are structured but flexible, with clear guidance so you always know what to practice between sessions. I also provide simple practice tips to help you improve efficiently, even with limited time.
Above all, the lessons are meant to be enjoyable. Learning cello as an adult should feel rewarding, not stressful.
Trial lessons are available so you can see if the approach suits you.
