Over Lucia
Hi, I'm Lucia and I have been doing yoga for around 12+ years now and am a fully qualified teacher with the Yoga Therapy Institute. I try bring a welcoming and balancing energy to the space - you don't need to be any way and you certainly don't need to be super flexible or experienced or anything like that. The lesson goes at your pace and your tempo.
I found that yoga and meditation gave me a sense of discipline and focus, and helped calm my mind and body, the had at tendency to be a bit 'wired' (still, that is the case, sometimes!). Even if there are a few waves around yoga can keep me grounded through it all.

The first stage of our lesson happens before, where we have a conversation regarding the aims of our session, as well as a discussion around any injuries or relevant issues that may exist.
I am trauma-informed teacher, but when it comes to working in our lessons, that doesn't need to be a theme at all (though it can be, if that feels right) - what I am trained to do is to hold the lesson, like a container, in a way that allows whatever it is to show up, which can be anything that is going on in the moment. The most important thing is that space permission is given in the lesson style so that we can just be however we can be at the class.
During the lesson itself I'll try to structure things dynamically, allowing the right pace to be set for our lesson, perhaps just finding that place where we can challenge ourselves, but that also doesn't feel too uncomfortable. In my way of teaching, I focus on stretching and building strength in the body, as well as experimenting with the boundaries of what is possible.
Lastly: yoga and meditation are very much one and the same, so within the asanas that we practice and the in the obviously meditative periods of our class, breath work and meditation will be present.

I am lucky to have been able to be led by Lucia thru wonderful flows. She has an ease leading us thru different poses and makes you feel comfortable even if you are not advanced (and can give you a good challenge if that’s what you’re looking for too!). I highly recommend Lucia and have to add you’re lucky to be able to be led by such a wonderful teacher.
Heb al meerdere lessen bij Lucia gevolgd, ze is een superleuke lerares! Speels, toegankelijk en ze hielp me goed ontspannen. Ik blijk een stuk leniger dan ik had verwacht. I'll be back :)
Lucia is a great yoga teacher. I’m older and new to Yoga yet keen to try new exercise. Through her knowledge of yoga and excellent teaching techniques I’ve become far more flexible and fit. I love working with Lucia.
