Over Charles
Hello there, my name is Charles! I am currently a PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam with several years of experience working as a data scientist and software engineer in industry.
Programming is my passion, and I absolutely love sharing and transmitting this knowledge to other people - coding can be such a powerful and empowering skill!
I have done tutoring and teaching in many different ways over the years, for students ranging from high school all the way to graduate school at the Master's level.
The most important thing I've learned as a teacher is to really be inspired by my students and strive to keep improving as a communicator in order to find just the right tailored approach for each individual.

I take a very practical, hands-on, and student-centered approach to teaching! I believe that we are both on a journey together to help you learn and get excited about a subject, and for me to keep improving as a teacher and tutor.
I love to make lesson plans that are personalized and tailored to my students - ideally we decide together what you wish to focus on and what concrete practical applications you would like to explore.
If you are not sure, that is also okay! We can build a foundation and go from there.
My lessons are intended for anyone eager to learn some Python programming skills, or keep improving in a specific area (for example data science).
