Hi! I’m Maria I’m a native Portuguese speaker from Portugal and currently an International Business student in the Netherlands.
I’d love to help you learn Portuguese in a relaxed, friendly and practical way! Whether you’re a complete beginner, already know some Portuguese, or simply want someone to practise conversation with, I’ll adapt the lessons to your level and goals.
As a native speaker, I can help you with European Portuguese pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and everyday expressions, including the Portuguese people actually use in real conversations. We can focus on anything from basic communication and travel Portuguese to improving your confidence when speaking.
I know learning a language can sometimes feel intimidating, so I want my lessons to be a comfortable space where you can make mistakes, ask questions and learn at your own pace.

My lessons are relaxed, practical and adapted to each student’s level and goals.
I believe one of the best ways to learn a language is by actually using it, so I like to combine conversation practice with vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar and everyday expressions. As a native European Portuguese speaker, I can also help students understand how Portuguese is naturally spoken in Portugal, rather than only focusing on textbook language.
A typical lesson can start with a short conversation in Portuguese, followed by a topic adapted to your level. We might work on new vocabulary, pronunciation or grammar and then practise what you’ve learned through conversations and exercises. I’m also happy to focus lessons on specific goals, such as travelling to Portugal, communicating with Portuguese-speaking family or friends, or simply becoming more confident when speaking.
My lessons are especially suitable for beginners and intermediate learners, as well as anyone who wants to practise conversational European Portuguese with a native speaker. No previous knowledge is necessary for beginners!
Most importantly, I want my lessons to feel comfortable and encouraging. Making mistakes is part of learning, and you’ll always be able to ask questions and progress at your own pace.
