Over Margarida
Hello!
My name is Margarida, and I’m a 26-year-old Portuguese native, born and raised in the beautiful city of Lisbon. At the age of 16, I had the incredible opportunity to live in Italy for a year, where I became fluent in Italian and developed a deep appreciation for Italian culture.
After returning to Lisbon, I spent a year working as an English tutor, helping students improve their language skills and gain confidence in their abilities. This experience ignited my passion for teaching and connecting with people from different backgrounds.
Currently, I live in the Netherlands, where I work as a sales manager, conducting business in Dutch. My love for different cultures and languages has always been a driving force in my life. I believe that learning languages is a powerful way to bridge cultural gaps and foster meaningful connections.

I believe language goes beyond grammar and accent.
It is about the history of the country, the culture, the habits. And this is what I like to share with students, and what makes learning interesting, as well as effective!
I use a variety of teaching techniques and methodologies to make my lessons engaging and effective. This includes interactive activities such as role-playing, conversation exercises, and the use of multimedia like videos and music. I tailor my methods based on each student’s learning style and needs, ensuring everyone can learn at their own pace.
My lessons typically last 60 minutes, providing ample time to introduce new concepts, practice, and answer questions. For younger students or beginners, I can offer shorter sessions of 30 minutes to maintain attention and make the learning experience enjoyable.
I have one year of experience as an English tutor in Lisbon, where I taught both individual lessons. Additionally, I am fluent in four languages, including Portuguese, my native language. This multilingual background helps me bridge language barriers and develop effective learning strategies. My teaching experience has taught me how to adapt my lessons to different levels and learning styles.
My lessons are designed for students of all ages and levels. Whether you are a beginner just starting with Portuguese or an advanced speaker looking to refine your skills, I can help. I enjoy working with both children and adults and tailor my lesson materials based on the student’s age and level.
