Over Lois
I taught English to Japanese children for almost two years. I worked with Japanese teachers to plan and teach lessons to children of various ages (0 - 15 years old) and capabilities. The classes were small, usually between 6 and 10 students, which allowed us to ensure every student got the attention the needed to learn as best the could. I created games to make learning fun and thought of the best methods to make learning English interesting and accessible, especially for older children who needed extra motivation. Each year my students took an exam which included a reading section, a writing section and a short interview. Each September students took part in a speech which we had spent several months memorising and perfecting their pronunciation. In both cases, the majority of my students passed.

I like to start my lessons by going through some basic questions. These questions will be asked each week so that students become fluent in them. Once they have learnt these questions we move onto new questions. The question selection will depend on the age of the students. For example, for younger children I ask about age/name/favourite foods or colours. For older students and adults I ask about plans for the weekend/past holidays/family member. After spending a few minutes on basic questions, I move onto the main topic. Generally I will spend 3 - 4 lessons on each topic, depending on how quickly the student is able to learn the topic. The first week will concentrate just on vocabulary and the following weeks will look at how to use that vocabulary in a sentence and how to structure a sentence.

Specificaties
For people wishing to take group lessons I will ask for an extra 5 euros per person per hour.
Normally I will cycle to meet you, however if you want to meet somewhere that involves me getting public transport I will ask that you reimburse my travel costs.
