Over Anastas
I was born in Bulgaria and began studying the percussive world when I was 10 years old. After quickly falling in love with the art I wanted to explore more and more from that world, so quickly I started playing more pieces and went to many competitions. After graduating school I went to Switzerland to study with Vassilena Serafimova, Emmanuel Sejourne and Simone Rubino. At that time something in me changed (for the better) and I discovered the art of composing. Due to administrative reasons from the conservatory I couldn’t follow composition lessons as well as percussion, so I came to the Netherlands. At Codarts Rotterdam I could follow this new passion along side my old one and could become a fuller and more complete musician with my own pace. Through the years I’ve composed and played many pieces. From playing with orchestras such as Rotterdam Phi and Jong Metropole Orkest to composing as a commission for Mallet Collective.

Every student requires a unique approach and structure. At the lessons the student will receive a unique to them material that depends on their level. A beginner will receive all basics that a percussionist needs, from music theory to rhythm practicing and playing. The more advanced and intermediate students who still have the desire to improve will get to play many pieces that introduce new challenges plus exercises and sessions on purely speaking about the music what it’s all about.
