Over Theo
Theo Naishtat (2000) is a jazz guitarist and music teacher from Buenos Aires, based in Amsterdam. He recently graduated from the prestigious European Jazz Master programme of the Conservatories of Amsterdam, Paris, and Trondheim.
With a passion for teaching guitar, Theo offers personalized lessons that focus on repertoire, technique, improvisation, and developing each student’s unique musical voice—whether you're a beginner or an advanced player looking to expand your vocabulary in jazz and other genres such as rock, pop, funk, blues, pop, and Latin music.
He has released three albums as a bandleader—”Refugio” (2021), “Afinidades” (2023), and “Oblivion” (2024)—and has contributed to numerous recordings as a sideman. While rooted in the jazz tradition, Theo has developed a distinctive voice on the guitar, combining virtuosity with sensitivity and a deep sense of expression.
From a young age, he was an active part of the Buenos Aires jazz scene, performing regularly in clubs and festivals throughout Argentina.
After completing his bachelor’s degree at the Conservatory of Buenos Aires, he moved to Europe in 2023 to further his studies. Since then, he has toured extensively with his quartet and other projects, presenting a unique blend of jazz and Argentine musical influences.
His latest album, “Oblivion”, has captivated audiences at leading jazz venues across Europe, including Sunset-Sunside (France), Bimhuis (Netherlands), Jazzhaus Heidelberg (Germany), Dokkhuset Scene (Norway), Café de Muze (Belgium), and Rank Jazz Club (Switzerland).
