Over Hélène

I have 7 years of professional experience, including 3 years experience in teaching and tutoring. I am a passionate teacher and double-hatted engineer with a civil and water management background. As an expatriate, I now flourish in teaching my mother tongue and sharing my French culture with others, on-line and in real-life situations.

Why should you choose me?

As a French native-speaker, traveler and previous project manager who worked in multi-cultural environments, I love to teach my mother tongue, share what I know from my French culture and the one I discovered on my path. I would also love to learn about your culture and some of your language words! We do not only learn how to write and speak the language, but we also learn the French ways of life, rules of courtesy etc.

I studied several languages. I also experienced learning challenges. So, I make the course interactive and lively to boost your motivation and keep you on track.

My level of education leads to an organized and rigorous way of teaching. And my passion for yoga will give you tools to serenely learn, express, and manage the emotions you may feel through the learning process.

What is my teaching approach?

I use the communicative approach to teach the French language.

We approach a theme through a conversation or a written/oral media as a base for the course (press article, video, brochure, audio, etc.). We can choose the themes depending on what is of your interest / what you want to learn / what your goal is. Those themes can be for example be able to introduce yourself, ask your way in the street, order in a restaurant, discuss about subjects of your interest with other people...

Who are my courses for?

I create tailor-made private courses. So my courses can be accessible for beginners, intermediate to more advanced learners. Before booking a first class, I suggest we first call each other in order to discuss if my offer fits your demand.

What happens during a course?

We go through your global comprehension and then detailed comprehension (with exercises/questions). We can also go through the associated vocabulary and grammar if needed. We practice conversation and/or writing on that theme (depending on what you need/want). We deepen or change theme from one course to another. I adjust my approach to your wishes and needs.

How often do you have to attend?

I can give you private courses on the rhythm that suits you. Courses can be scheduled regularly or from time to time (depending on your wish and availabilities). Of course, the more you will practice the more you will learn :-)

After the first FREE lesson, you choose to take one or multiple lessons / workshops.
The price per lesson is lower when you purchase a package of 10 or 5 lessons (respectively 36€ or 38€ per hour). The price of a single and punctual lesson without commitment is higher (40 € per hour).
